We’re thrilled to announce the results of this year’s do_action_mtl hackathon. It’s such a privilege to be able to help our local community by organizing this event and we’re endlessly thankful to everyone who participates and supports our efforts.

do_actions are WordPress community events, much like WordCamps are, that take place all over the world. Our own Sasha Endoh has been the head organizer for Montreal’s do_action since the beginning and we’re excited to learn that this year’s hackathon makes our do_action_mtl the second longest-running do_action hackathon in the world. You can learn more about the project on the do_action website.

Folks we helped

This year, we worked with one great local organization fully embracing our “small but mighty” mentality.

Centre des Femmes Solidaire et Engagées

Also known as “the Centre” this organization supports, educates, and organizes local women of all ages. From helping women in difficult situations, dealing with domestic violence, mental or physical health issues to hosting discussion groups, organizing actions, and offering a place for women to socialize in a safe environment – the Centre is a powerhouse of a feminist organization!

Many thanks

Participants and partners

We couldn’t do this without the support of the WordPress and nonprofit community!

A huge thanks to our participants who chose to spend a Saturday creating a website for a worthy cause. We’re also grateful to Concordia Bootcamps for hosting us and to COCo for offering website maintenance and training for the CFSE team.

If you’re interested in participating next year, please do follow do_action_mtl on: TwitterFacebook, and Instagram for updates and news. À la prochaine!
